Review from Soul Killer Webzine
While not even remotely original, this is a decent album. The band
consists of Phil Fasciana from Malevolent Creation, Rob Barrett
formerly of Cannibal Corpse, and Crazy Larry Hawke, who died shortly
after finishing the drums for this album. The songs tend to sound a
lot like Malevolent Creation, although the production is a lot muddier.
But there are lots of good riffs, and crazy Larry has always been,
well, crazy on the drums. The lyrics get special mention for being
really brutal, no poetry or metaphors here, they just pick a disturbing
topic and bark about it in the most straight-forward, explicit way
possible.
Review from Altars of Metal Webzine
Looking at the cover, but, also from the band’s name, I expected they
would play hardcore. Tragical mistake. Read the line up: Phil Fasciana
(Malevolent Creation), Rob Barret (Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation),
Tim Scott (Revenant), Kyle Simons (ex-Sickness) and "Crazy" Larry Hawke,
known to the underground scene of Florida. When the group was about to
release their debut (everybody dies), bad luck knocked the door. Larry
Hawke got 8 months in jail. Luckily, he did the recording of the drums
just on time. When he got out of jail, everything was OK with the group.
But, luck hit the door for once again. Larry Hawke was found dead at
24/5/97 from vapours of fire in his house. R.I.P.. That’s all about the
band’s bad luck, informatively. Now, musically, when a band consists of
known persons, who are stuck into death metal, what can we expect? Death
metal, of course. Hateplow play brutal death-grind that crushes bones.
The volume of the guitars drills your ears, the vocals are tough and
the drums of the -now gone- Larry Hawke awesome. The compositions
remind Cannibal Corpse and Malevolent Creation (I wonder why) as
Napalm Death too, without having any matter of imitation set. All you
who listen this specific kind, grab it and you won’t lose. The rest,
stay away! - Giorgos Haralambakis

Are you a fan of extreme music? Well here is some straight up brutality
for you. Hateplow pummels your dumb ass all over the place. Tear into
this disc you won't be let down at all. Choice picks are "$20 BlowJob"
and "Ass To Mouth Resuscitation". There is also a very funny cover of
the song "Sunshine Of Your Love". Grab this and prepare to have your
dumb ass kicked!!

Ok two guys from Malevolent Creation (Phil Fasciana and Rob Barrett) started
a new band called Hate Plow. I told myself... this must be good. So I tried
(at the time) their only album. The first song will destroy you. Guaranteed!
It sounds somewhat like Malevolent Creation but the song writing is a bit
more thrash/grind/punk oriented. I really like the blend! It's subtle
sometimes but it's always omnipresent.
Everybody into Death Metal should get this American Piece of Violence.
Fucking cool riffs. The guitar works superbly together to melt into a tight
CD. At some time you might think it's Malevolent Creation, but it's a good
thing, since most people that like them can't get enough of it cuz they
always stayed fucking brutal. Kyle Simons's voice is low and dirty, it adds
more to the brutal sound. The production is really good; I think it sounds
like MC "In Cold Blood" but dirtier! Brian Griffin (who worked on MC's " The
Fine Art of Murder") done a real good job practicing for his masterpiece The
Fine Art of Murder... They lost some points for the whole design of the CD,
c'mon guys do something about your design, it sucks big time.
Overall - This is a fucking sick and brutal album; if you like fucking fast
and crunchy Grind/Death Metal this should be your next investment.
